Feminism #Boymoms Aren’t Off the Hook.

When I was pregnant with Max, I wanted a girl...needless to say that didn’t happen.  People have often asked me why (then and now).  I had a great desire to raise a smart, independent, confidant and strong woman.  I come from a long line of loud mouthed bitches and I want to keep than going.

Do I still wish I had a girl?

Nope!

 I love my insane, loud and loving child.  I have never been one for pink, those fucking ugly headbands with the giant bows and flowers, all the girly horse shit, and the ‘Daddy’s little princess’ crap.  So I am in the clear.

Get it Together, Its Not About You. Part 2: Nobody Wants to Be Here

Recently, I encountered a fellow parent in my mildly hipster neighborhood.  We were both in a space that is owned by a coffee shop. This space is free to use, unless already used by the sing-a-long people.  He (Liam*) was not aware that one was about to occur. I tell Liam what is going on and he is instantly annoyed.

Liam: Ugh. I hate those things.

Me: Yeah, but the kids have fun..so whatever….

He ends up staying but acting like he and his truly too-cool-for-school 18-month old really isn’t into it.
